Welcome!
I started fishing Lake Jocassee about 10 years ago and at that time I was fortunate to find the board “Jocassee Reports”. That board was created and operated by long time Jocassee fisherman Sam Jones sometime in the early 2000’s. It was full of advice, fishing reports, and sharing which was tremendously helpful in leaning the lake and what Jocassee trout fishing was about. Through reporting, I came to know some of the regular trout fishermen and enjoyed meeting them on the lake.
Sam, after 15 plus years of funding and running that board decided to retire it this summer. You can still follow Sam’s “Jocassee Reports” on his Facebook page at: JocasseeReports.com.
With a large data base of reports from over the years, you could use that information to try and formulate trip plans based upon previous years’ results. I would also report our trip information each time we fished Jocassee so even if no one else used that info, I had a readily available record to review at any time. While it will take many years to create that type of data base again, I hope, with your help, that someday this board will be as rich in information as the previous board was. Looking forward seeing you on the water and reading your reports.
Tight lines!
